Taking place on Saturday 19 March between 2-5pm, this FREE 3-hour workshop introduces basic skills for building a playful robot.  The SideFest team will guide you through the process, providing all the necessary equipment, except the ‘human-in-the-loop’ – that’s you!  You will code instructions and test how well they work on the device you build.  Small parts and electronics are involved so the workshop is not suitable for young children – we recommend 12+ years. SideFest is a Leicester-based organization that hosts family events focussing on gaming, comics and STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths) fun days.  It runs Leicester’s ever-popular Creat-A-Con family day, where visitors get to play with latest technologies and also try out classic console games. The SideFest team have worked with the Art AI Festival since 2019, when they ran children’s robot-building workshops that aligned with one of the festival’s international artworks: Useless Machines.
